Eco friendly pacifier clip?

So last week I decided I was going to make pacifer clips. Easy right? Buy the hardware... some cute ribbon... assemble... and you have a pacifier clip! Here's a picture of some samples I made... not so great. The printed grossgrain keeps splitting and warping the pattern!

So then I realized I want/need to make it eco-friendly and/or organic. I'm now on a hunt to find some eco friendly ribbon... but I'm not sure if that exists. Eco friendly fabric tape? Sewing tape? Then I thought ... bias tape! You can make bias tape. So if worst comes to worst maybe I'll have to find some cute organic fabrics and sew it into a paci clip!
